Support » Plugin: Yoast SEO » X-Robots-Tag in sitemap XML

    Good afternoon,
I know that by default Yoast marks XML pages as non-index with the X-Robots-Tag header.

I would like to modify that header in with a hook.
I would take care of detecting the XML URLs I want to edit and add the HTTP response to them.

    Thanks

    Hello Owernet,

Thanks for reaching out regarding your XML sitemaps.

Since we do not have functionality within the plugin to modify that header, there is a documentation that provides technical information about how Yoast SEO generates and/or manages XML sitemaps. You may find it useful – https://developer.yoast.com/features/xml-sitemaps/overview

@maybellyne thanks for your fast answer 🙂

I read about it. But I understand is not possible. That is why I contacted the technical service.

Is there a way through code to modify this header?

    Have a nice day

    Hi,

Unfortunately, we aren’t able to provide assistance with custom code that would modify the default output of our plugin and its features (such as the sitemap). For instances such as those, we would like to refer you to our developer portal for all of the available documentation in modifying the plugin output – https://developer.yoast.com/

Sorry that we couldn’t be of more help here.

    Hi @mikes41720
Thanks for your answer in the documentation of
    https://developer.yoast.com/features/http-headers/functional-specification/#x-robots-tag

    I don’t find anything.
Don’t worry I’m going to change the plugin.

    Best regards

@owernet513 We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t find the solution in the developer documentation. However, we can’t offer support on custom code needed to change core features of our plugin since we don’t want to take the risk that we break your website by suggesting incorrect or incomplete code.

Maybe someone watching these forums can assist you further, but if your topic is inactive for 7 days, we’ll mark it as resolved to keep the overview.Thank you for your understanding.

    Morning @devnihil,
Understand. But implementing code is at my own risk.

If in dev documentation don’t aport how to manage this is nothing to do.

Feel free to close the thread.
    Best Regards
