    Hello,

Today, I decided to put some more content on a website I’m am maintaining. I’ve used Responsive Tabs on this website in the past and it was really helpful, especially because I had the normal WordPress visual editor at my disposal when using the tab sets.
For some reason however, I now can only see the HTML/Text-only editor when I open a tab sets. While I could code everything in HTML, it works a lot faster if I can use the normal WordPress visual editor view. Am I missing something or did things change in the recent version?

    Thank you in advance,
    Cheers!

Hi there, very sorry for the inconvenience, I will paste an answer I’ve already given about this.

Version 3.0 uses a new options/metaboxes framework. Metaboxes are all these fields you fill to create you Tabs.

The old framework (used in previous versions) isn’t maintained by its author anymore, which means it won’t evolve with the next versions of WordPress (which could lead to security/functionality issues as new versions of WordPress are being released).

The new one is actively being updated and supported by the authors.

Unfortunately, the Editor window isn’t supported for repeating fields (like Tabs) yet. Developers are working on it as we speak and it most certainly will be available one day (probably soon).

We know it may cause some inconvenience when editing your Tab Sets but we decided to do this to keep the plugin safe and working with future versions of WordPress. We’ll implement this feature again as soon as it’s available.

I hope you understand, I’m sorry again for the inconvenience caused.

Thank you for your response. I understand your choice for security, let’s hope the developers come up with a solution soon. 🙂

If I understand you correctly, this issue only arises with version 3.0, correct? So for now I could either edit everything using HTML or downgrade to version 2.0 for the time being which would allow me to use the Editor window again, but might cause some security issues?

    Cheers,

    Hi,

    Yes, correct.

I don’t think version 2.0 has any issue for the time being. I’m just saying that you can’t be sure that it’ll work with the future versions of WordPress, as it’s not maintained anymore.

Thanks, I’ll try and figure out what’s the best solution for me at the moment.

If you really need the Editor, you can go for 2.0. No problem at the moment.

We want to implement this soon, I’ll keep you posted.
