• I’ve got a really odd issue going on in the brand-new computer that I’m working on, and I’m hoping that maybe someone can help shed some light on it.

I’m working with a brand-new MacBook… like two days old, which I’ve installed Firefox on. I was just trying to do a blog entry, and when I tried to create a link using the WYSIWYG editor, it threw up the window as usual…. but completely blank. No editing fields for me to enter the URL in. To make it worse, it refused to close when I clicked on the X, and the javascript window kept following my cursor around. the only way that I could escape from this was to finally close the entire browser window.

I’ve tried this several times, with consistent results, and it happens when I try to use the image editor, too, so it’s a malfunction that has to do with the pop-ups in general, not just the link editor. Anyone have any insight on what to do?

  • Hmm, new bug? Is your firefox up to date?

Well, it was just downloaded off the official Mozilla site yesterday, so it should be.

I’m having a very similar issue. (By “very similar” I mean “exactly the same.”) I, too, have a MacBook Pro with Firefox 2.0.0.6. I’m running Mac OS X 10.4.10.

I just “upgraded” to WP 2.2.2 last night and now the WYSIWYG link editor pops up blank and I’m unable to a) close it or b) use it.

It *does* work in Safari, which (I’m sure) handles everything differently, so there’s a workaround. However, I’m pretty sure this is an undesired result.

Note: My MBP is about a year old and Firefox worked fine before I upgraded WP – I’ve made no system changes between the editor working and it not working.

I am using Camino on a MacBookPro and find that while I can see the WYSIWYG editing icons the two “link” icons are greyed out and inaccessbile.

Is there a workaround for inserting a link into a blog? Linking is one of the most fundamental features of a blog and not being able to do this is frustrating.

While I have no clue if Camino works with TinyMCE (the wysiwyg), I do have a question:

Do you have any text selected (hilited) before trying to use the Link buttons?

    Yes, I did.
