• Got a weird problem with the wysiwyg editor – no matter which part of the text I select the cursor jumps to the top of the first paragraph and the change happens there not where I want it.

I have upgraded wp to latest but it’s still broke. Can anyone explain why or how to resolve? Thanks

I’ve now tried this on another pc and all was ok so I guess it’s something specific to my pc/browser (ie8). I’ve tried deleting the cache, history, cookies etc and restarting but I’ve still go the problem. What else can I do?

Try disabling all your plugins. Perhaps one of those is doing something that IE doesn’t like.

I’ve tried disabling all plugins and then i noticed that the problem is happening with this pc and all my wp sites (all at differing builds) whilst another pc with ie8 can edit all the sites without any problem.

So I have an issue with this pc – vista with ie8.

I’ve checked and there’s been no windows updates just before the problem so I’ve ruled that out.

Does wp use any browser addons, java etc? What can I try disabling in ie8?

“Reset internet explorer settings” has done the trick.

I’m still wondering why this was necessary?
