• My site was running fine today. I go to post something this evening and i get this message.
Error establishing a database connection! This probably means that the connection information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect. Double check it and try again.
Are you sure you have the correct user/password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?

  • I’ve seen a similar message (without the info on wp) when trying to view other people’s blogs sometimes, usually temporarily due to e.g. maintenance (database server) executed by their host.
    I wouldn’t start panicking rightaway.

I’ve had it too – give it 30 minutes, then email your host.
    It’s probably routine server maintenance.
