Now I can’t open word press because picture it can’t open it. I have deleted and started over, but same issue. Can any one help me on this? Windows or Mac? Select ‘Properties’. Look a few lines down for ‘Opens with’. Now click ‘Change’ and select an appropriate application for the file. If you are talking about the WP .zip file you need to select something like Winzip. I use AlZip. If you are trying to open a PHP file, you need to use a text editor. So I retraced my steps, and now I cannot find the durn winzip in my programs! Now the problem is….. The program WordPress is on my desktop. It is zipped. When I open it, it becomes unzipped, however, when I right click it (the unzipped version, which is still a folder in the zipped folder) still wants to open with my damn picture it! I right click on the folder (again, in the zipped folder) but I do not get an option to open with! Help, I am so over this! Saying my mantra “Go Slow with computer, get in no hurry” Repeating! Now click extract files, it will extract them to a folder on your desktop and then open the extracted folder. I am not sure that I have all the steps taken, I am trying to use word press alone, rather than the wordpress default that 1and1 gives me for my blog site. I changed all the information it requested, and when I hit upload, it uploaded everything that was already at the site. Now I really want to change the theme, but I do not see where I can go while I am on my blog site. Do I need to go the the wordpress site and choose a theme then upload it to my site? Well, I believe I just answered my question. But If you realize I have not…. Thanks again for all you help apljdi and dtiger.
