Support » Fixing WordPress » Wrong names and emails get populated when reader writes a comment

  • NikonRumors

This started few days ago – some blog readers see the names and email addresses of previous commenters pre-populated in their comments section. I cleared the cache, updated to WP 3.0, changed all passwords, but the problem is still present. I have not installed any new plugins lately.

Anyone experienced something similar (could not find any related topics in the forum)? Any idea how to fix this? Thanks!

This is the list of currently running plugins (all up to date):
    All in One SEO Pack
    Broken Link Checker
    Contact Form 7
    FeedBurner FeedSmith
    Feed Footer
    Google XML Sitemaps
    Page Links To
    Really Simple CAPTCHA
    SEO Friendly Images
    Wordpress Backup (by BTE)
    WordPress Database Backup
    WP Super Cache

I uploaded the WB Exploit Scanner plugin and could not find anything suspicious.

I changed the WP security keys which should reset the cookie files and changed all passwords, contacted my host (MediaTemple) without any results. Frustrating 🙁
Next, I will start disabling plugins one by one.

Same problem here. We upgraded to WP 3.0 a couple of weeks ago. Problem first noticed on Friday. Plugins:

    Change Admin Username
    Hello Dolly
    Wordpress Firewall
    WP Security Scan
    WP Super Cache
