    Hello,

I use the plugin smtp mailer to send mails.

When i import the signing key in my mail app, I have the error "This key is expired. User IDs mismatch. This key is assigned to wordpress@domain.com." when the sending email is contact@otherdomain.com

    Thanks,

The email address is as expected. It’s WordPress’s email address.

    Hello,

Yes, but if you change your default sending address, your have a signing key which correspond with the wordpress address you will never use.

Wouldn’t it better to have the signing key for the default address chosen by the admin ?

    Thanks,

You can always generate a key yourself and use that as the site’s signing key, but by default the plugin generates a key for WordPress, which is why it associates WordPress’s email address.

    Ok, I will do that.
    Thanks for the answer,

I did that and it works well, except that when I copy directly the signing certificate (generated with Gnu Privacy Assistant on Ubuntu) in the plugin fields, it makes a blank page appear on the 2-factor authentication page of the Shield Security plugin (the next step after entering the username and password).

I had to copy the public and private keys first in an editor with inline mode, and then to copy it in WP PGP Encrypted Emails, and it works.

So it seems that blank spaces or line-breaks in the signing keys provoke this problem.
