# Write Asides

 * I’m trying to figure out a way to make a new page under the Write column (figured
   this part out) which automatically chooses the aside category. Basically, I go
   to “Write Asides” and I am taken to a page with the same form as the Write Page
   one, except, the default category is now the Asides category.
 * Any idea how to do this? I’m not much of a php programmer so can’t really think
   of a way to do it myself. Messing around with it didn’t really yield any results.
   Possibly do this via a plugin?

 * Why on earth would you want to do that, rather than just tick the right checkbox
   under categories for the category you’ve chosen to be your asides category?

 * because, usually i’m posting in a hurry. Making it one less step would just make
   it a bit easier. Plus, I have a dozen or so categories (well 69 to count them
   all) since I used to use them as tags rather than categories (don’t ask)

 * Sorry, but I still don’t see how it’s “one less step” and AFAIK making any sort
   of customizations to the wp admin would take a level of genius that I’m sure 
   I don’t have, and by your own self-proclimation, think you might not have either…
 * I’d just make a new category, and maybe make THAT one your default, so that you
   won’t have to worry about checking boxes when you write – if the 5 seconds is
   really that much to bear…

 * argh, but the 5 seconds are too much to bear. Try finding the sideblog category
   from 97 different categories! Alas, It is possible via a plugin system (don’t
   say it isn’t, because it is) and any help in the regard would be appreciated.
