When I add an image with left or right alignment the text doesn’t wrap around. Do I need to do something special for this to happen?

    Thanks,

  • It works on my local install. Can you post a link to your website?

Unfortunately I don’t yet have permission to make the site online. But if it works for you, it must have something to do with my setup. However, I haven’t added any custom CSS or made changes to the style.css … strange.

Having investigated further it seems to on be only text with headings that doesn’t wrap. When I place the image in sections without any H2 or H3 tags, the text wraps around the image nicely.

Can you post a screenshot of what you see, both with the text wrapping correctly and incorrectly?

I don’t see a way to post screenshots here? Anyway, the problem is that if I insert an image in text containing a heading-tag all the text after and including the heading get pushed down below the image (no wrapping).

Not a major problem, just a little annoying.

There are a lot of sites to post images, but I prefer Imgur.

What I think is going on is that by default, heading tags are block-level elements, meaning that they are always on their own lines, and they take up the entire line regardless of how wide the content is. Left- and right-aligned images are inline elements, meaning that they can exist on the same line as other inline elements, and they are only as wide as they need to be to accommodate their content.

What you could do is put the image after the heading, but before the paragraph, like this (using the text editor instead of the visual editor): http://imgur.com/DKU9dcA

yes that is probably the way to do it. So it is not just my site that behaves this way?

Your site is fine. It’s just an oddity of how HTML works.
