I was wondering if there are any coding suggestions for making WP-Table Reloaded 1.8 mobile theme friendly? I am using WP-TR 1.8 with WPtouch plugin 1.9.19 activated. The columns look elongated and understandably are outside of the mobile margins. Apologies if this has been brought up before and I overlooked the topic in this forum or in the support documentation. Any help is welcome and appreciated.

    Great product by the way.

    Regards, Denise

    Hi Denise,

    thanks for your question.

Unfortunately, I’m not really sure how I can help with this.
The thing with themes for mobile devices is, that “regular content” like texts in posts can be made “fittable” quite easily. This does not apply for tables though, as they simply require a certain minimum width, due to the content in the cells which is does and can not word-wrap automatically.

So, the only suggestion I can make is, to have a look at the FAQ on my website, to see how setting the column widths works. Then you could try to find out, if there’s an additional CSS selector available that allows for CSS to be applied on mobile devices only. That way you could reduce the column widths on such devices, while for regular users nothing changes.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Tobias:

I really appreciate your response. I understand ;(. At the very least on the iPhone the multi-column tables display more correctly if the phone is turned horizontally. Yeah iPhone! Guess I could just add a note for mobile theme users until I am able to figure out a more full proof way to address this via css. Thanks.

    Regards, Denise
