  • There is only so much real-estate available on a smart a phone, and you have to be realistic on what you can view on a website

A website on smart phone in my case is typically used to lookup items and answer questions while users are mobile

I have a special startup of page for smart phone, which is a created with Link Library, contains links to viewable pages that a mobile user typically need while there mobile

Works fine on a desktop. Gives me ‘server not found’ on my phone (Android 4.1.1)

OK, works on Chrome, but Firefox wasn’t happy. You might like to revisit that one.

Comparing the 2 ways of viewing the sites, it seems that you have done a lot of work to create a mobile app from the WP app, and that seems contrary to simply using a plugin to get the desired result. In fact, if I was faced with that, I’d start from scratch and do the phone app, then move material to WP, not the other way round.

This seems all out of kilter to me for a (pricey) plugin.

BTW, take a look a FF on a mobile to see how menus can be handled in the traditional way.

The following link as described above was all done simply with WPTouch plugin, no App

    I did, thanks.

But single level menus as per WPTouch don’t really cut it, I’m afraid.

WPtouch Pro offers full WordPress menu support. Some mobile themes offer multiple menu support.

If you want to give WPtouch Pro a try, there’s a trial period during which you have full access to support and documentation to help you set up your desktop theme’s advanced functionality in your mobile theme.

You might do better if you revised your pricing…it is out of my reach.

Wow. That was a quick change of heart…!

    Confusion abounds!

That url is invalid. What’s likely happening is that your desktop theme is using custom page templates for the content you’re not seeing. The free version of WPtouch does not offer the capability to display those. WPtouch Pro is built to accommodate advanced desktop theme functionality such as custom post types, custom page templates, and shortcodes.
