Support » Plugin: WP Super Cache » WPSuperCache – Why do Supercache Files Get Deleted ?

  • Whenever I preload my site and the Super Cache is loaded, my site runs extremely fast, however the cache only lasts for maybe an hour or two. After that the cache gets deleted somehow and doesn’t even show up under “Expired Pages”.

I have the “Expired Folders and Files” set to 86400 seconds, however this does not seem to affect the Super Cache (maybe just the WP-cache files) as my files still get deleted after 1-2 hrs.

Any help is greatly appreciated as my site speed is extremely fast when the Super Cache files are active.

  • I noticed exactly the same thing on my website.

To me this seems like a bug… 🙁

    Yep…..has to be.

If your looking for a good Cache plugin that doesn’t have all the bugs this one does and turns your pages into quick loading static html pages, try out Cache Enabler. It’s free and works like a charm.

My hunch is that it has to do with opcache and/or the setting” “Cache rebuild. Serve a supercache file to anonymous users while a new file is being generated. (Recommended)

I have disbled the Cache rebuild setting and preloaded all cache.
Let’s see what will happen in the next few hours…

    I can confirm that disabling
“Cache rebuild. Serve a supercache file to anonymous users while a new file is being generated. (Recommended)”
    solves the problem!

I guess you also have opcache or something similar running?

Im glad you got it running. I did try disabling the “cache rebuild” before to solve the issue as I had the same thought, but it didn’t help. I tried it again today and it still doesn’t work. The cache may stay in tact for an hour or two, but then gets dumped yet again.

    Switching back to cache enabler

    Hi,

I am facing the same issue and am going to try to have “cache rebuild” off.
If there is any idea to solve this problem, I really appreciate.
