Hi, I am trying to set up a google merchant feed. I purchased the WPSSO premium plugin to fill the gaps of the requirements google needs such as price, colour etc. Woocommerce alone does not support this.

WPSSO has filled in some gaps I had like price, but some others like colour, condition and a few others are not showing. (altho it is showing there but can not be filled in)

I have tried adding attributes, but does not help.

Any ideas how to get this to work please would be great?

    Belinda.

    I’m happy to help.

You opened a Premium support ticket at the same time and I have answered your questions there – please see the response to that Premium ticket for additional details.

In summary, the WooCommerce Integration notes (mentioned in the SSO > Setup Guide) should provide all the information you may need to create any WooCommerce product attribute for your meta tags and Schema markup. If you have any questions about the WooCommerce Integration notes, please reply to the Premium ticket you opened and I’ll be happy to provide additional assistance.

Google Merchant Feed is not based on meta tags and Schema markup – it’s more like an RSS or XML feed – and the Google Merchant Feed has it’s own markup standard (which not related to meta tags and Schema markup). Any plugin to create a Google Merchant Feed for WooCommerce products should work fine – it’s a fairly simple standard. The only thing to look out for is to make sure that whatever Google Merchant Feed plugin you use includes the WooCommerce product ID in the feed. The Google Merchant crawler uses the product ID to cross-reference the Google Merchant Feed items with Schema Product markup in your webpages.

    Hi JS,
Thank you for your response. It took a bit of working out. I could add attributes. It could be a single product or a variable product and the WPSSO picked up my attributes in the end.
Few little things that helped though – I Spell Color as ‘Colour’ and adding this in the custom attributes must of helped.
As well as ‘Brand’ was not filled in the attributes so may of not of been picking up my brand name. (My brand being custom made by me and not a global brand name)

I did not know I needed a plugin for a google merchant feed but thanks for the heads up.
    Any recommendations?

I use woocommerce and WPSSO together. Such great plugins.
    Thanks for your time JS!
    Belinda.

Note – These attributes were adjusted in the SSO Advanced Settings.
