  • When I create a page thru WordPress MU’s Write Page section, I click on the “code” tab to go into the code area where I paste my code for that page. The problem is that whenever I save or publish a page the program removes my ul classes (I’m guessing it also removes class attributes for li, p, img, etc.). I figured I’d work around this by embedding my ul’s inside of different div’s instead so that I can have the styles target the ul in a specific div class instead of just targeting a specific ul class, but the div’s disappear too – unlike the ul’s which merely lose the class value div tags are completely stripped from the page code.

Is there a setting in WPMU that changes what tags and attributes are permitted? Or is this just something we are stuck having to live with? At the moment I cannot have different list styles on a page?!

    Thanks in advance!

  • I just double checked, and regular WordPress does NOT delete class attributes or div tags – so why does MU???

Switching back and forth between the code editor and the visual editor will mangle your code. Use only one or the other.

I’m not trying to switch back and forth – it doesn’t give me a choice – I save or publish my file and it automatically switches to visual editor. Any idea how to keep this from happening? Thanks.

In regular WordPress, you can disable the visual editor in the user profiles.

Might be a longshot but maybe the folks in the MU forums will have some insight into this clearly MU-specific behavior.

    Thanks jonimueller and iridax,
I looked for the mu forum but couldn’t find it, so thanks for the link! 🙂 As it turns out my boss wants everything as simple as possible for the client so divs and classes are out anyway.
    Thanks anyway all!
    Have a great day!
