Support » Plugin: WooCommerce » WPML Translation Tax Rates

  • Resolved Wondercrow

I can’t translate the strings for standard, reduced and zero tax rates in Woocommerce. I’m using WPML string translation. The strings do not seem to be localized.

Has anyone else got this issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi @wondercrow

I see that the translations don’t work. Does the text change after changing the WordPress language?

    Hi John,

Thanks for answering. When I change my Profile Language to German or French, “standard” and “reduced” stay in English. Same as when I change the site language.

    Hi @wondercrow,

How about when using a plugin like Loco Translate. This will allow you “translate” WooCommerce plugin, find those phrases and change it to be what you’d like.

    Hi @yukikatayama

Thanks for your answer. I already translated 99% of my site using WPML add-on. I’m not comfortable adding Loco Translate on top.
Anyway, I understand the string should be translatable. Maybe a bug in WPML, that the string is not recognised for translation. In this case, I must add the field in manually for translation. To do this, I need the name of the field.

Could you please tell me what the name of the field?

Thanks in advance for your help.

@wondercrow Sorry for the late reply here.

Standard rate and Standard rates are both translatable strings. The other rates are user defined in the tax settings:

Since these are set in the admin, I am not sure how they would be translatable to different languages through the WPML system, that is something you would need to discuss with them.

Additionally, due to the age of this thread, I am marking it resolved. If you need further assistance, you can remove that mark and reply.
