 * Hi there,
 * I’m having some issues getting the plugin working with the WPML plugin. On translated
   pages, the [mla_gallery] shortcode doesn’t display any media items. Is this a
   known issue with WPML?
 * Here is an example shortcode I’m using:
 * [mla_gallery post_mime_type=”application/pdf” attachment_category=”cat-title”
   orderby=”date DESC” size=”icon” link=”file” mla_output=”gallery” posts_per_page
   =”6″ columns=”2″ mla_image_attributes=’width=32 height=32′]

 * Thanks for your question, which is the first I’ve had regarding WPML.
 * There is an earlier MLA support topic regarding a different multi-lingual plugin,
   Polylang:
 * [Shortcode doesn’t work on multilingual website?](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/shortcode-doesnt-work-on-multilingual-website)
 * In that case, a plugin setting allowed the `[mla_gallery]` shortcode to work
   properly. I don’t know if there’s a similar setting in WPML.
 * The current version of MLA is internationalized, but due to an oversight on my
   part the language files did not make it into the production release. I will rectify
   that in my next update. I don’t think that will solve your problem, however.
 * WPML is a premium plugin and I have not purchased a copy. I visited the wpml.
   org web site and found their “[Go-Global Program](http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program)“.
   As soon as I have updated MLA to include the language files I will apply to their
   program and see if I can make MLA “WPML-compatible”.
 * I will leave this topic unresolved for now and I will post my progress here.
   Thanks for your question, for your understanding and your patience.

 * Dear David,
    My name is Mercedes and I am from WPML team. Thank you for applying
   for our Go global program. We will help you make your theme or plugin Multilingual
   Ready. Privacy is very important for us and therefore, before starting the process,
   I would like to validate that this is really you. If you confirm I will be glad
   to approve it.
 * Kind regards,

 * Thanks for your prompt response. Yes, I applied for the Go Global program, filling
   out the application at the wpml.org web site yesterday. I am looking forward
   to working with your.

 * [@ptasker](https://wordpress.org/support/users/ptasker/) –
 * Thanks for your patience while I pursue the task of adding WPML compatibility
   to MLA. I have been accepted in the Go Global program and have been able to set
   up a test system to make the enhancements MLA requires to work with WPML. I will
   keep you posted on my progress.

 * I am working on MLA compatibility with WPML, and I now have a better understanding
   of your issue. As I understand it, the `attachment_category="cat-title"` parameter
   of your `[mla_gallery]` shortcode is not working because the translated pages
   are looking for language-specific terms.
 * If you would like to help me test MLA/WPML compatibility I can send you a “wpml-
   congif.xml” file you can add to the root directory of the media-library-assistant
   plugin. That may allow you to extend the Att. Category and Att. Tag taxonomies
   to the other languages you support. If you’d like to test the improvements, please
   send me a note with your e-mail address and I will give you a copy by return
   e-mail. You can use the Contact Us page at our web site:

 * I have released MLA version 1.82, which contains some improvements in WPML support
   and compatibility. I am still working with the WPML development team on a few
   issues, such as the language-specific “views” in the upper-left corner of the
   Media/Assistant submenu table.
 * I hope the new version will improve your WPML/MLA experience. I am leaving this
   topic unresolved for now, and I welcome any additional information you can provide
   to help me finish this task.

 * Peter,
 * I have completed and released the MLA modifications required to fix the language-
   specific “views” in the upper-left corner of the Media/Assistant submenu table.
 * This fix depends on some modifications to the WPML Media plugin. I have worked
   with the WPML development team to complete and test those changes, which will
   be included in a future WPML Media release.
 * I will update (and hopefully resolve) this topic when the WPML Media changes
   are released. If there are any other issues you have with MLA and WPML compatibility,
   please let me know.
 * Thanks for your patience and your interest in the Media Library Assistant.

 * I have just updated to WPML Media version 3.1.7, and it looks like the modifications
   required to fully support MLA have been included in that release.
 * I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any issues
   with or questions about WPML support with the latest combination of MLA and WPML
   Media.
 * Thanks for your patience during this extended journey, and for your interest
   in the plugin.
