 * Can someone help validate the above plugin settings? The readme says to copy 
   files into given dir’s. Done that and activated plugin, no problem. Then goto
   option->Gallery2, in admin panel, and the first setting says “Relative Gallery2
   Path:
    This is the path to your Gallery2 installation relative to your embed 
   page.” I don’t have a gallery2 “installation”, i only have the files that i was
   told to copy into the given folders. I have tried “/”, “gallery2/” and “…/gallery2”
   as entries for this setting, all fail to validate. I created a folder “gallery2”
   at both the root of WP and in the plugin folder (hence the …/gallery2), this 
   did not work either. I have also, throughly, read the doco, visited the authors
   web page and posted this question on his forum (does not look like there is much
   activity for this plugin). Can anyone offer some help? Thanks in advance

 * You need an installation of Gallery2 for this plugin to be of any use to you.
   It’s for integrating WP and Gallery – not for creating a gallery on its own.

 * I found it really strange also. My Gallery install is in /g2/, the way I finally
   got it to work was a combination of the first 3 fields:
 * Relative Gallery2 Path: (blank)
 * Embed Gallery2 Page Name: ../wp-gallery2.php
 * Path from web document root: /g2/

 * Oh yeah, a G2 install is necessary also. 🙂

 * Is everyone putting their g2data file inside the webserver area? The gallery 
   2 install says to put it outside of the webserver area but i dont want to do 
   that if this plugin will not work with the g2data folder outside of the webserver
   area.

 * I put mine in the webserver area. It seems to work for the most part.
 * But I have a general question… I’m having some trouble getting this puppy to 
   really truly integrate. It keeps trying to go here for pictures: [http://www.mysite.com/wordpress/v/mypicture.jpg.html](http://www.mysite.com/wordpress/v/mypicture.jpg.html)…
   but I’ll get a 404 error… the page is REALLY at [http://www.mysite.com/gallery2/v/mypicture.jpg.html](http://www.mysite.com/gallery2/v/mypicture.jpg.html).
   WHat’s the deal?
 * And I’m fighting the style, too. I wish either Coppermine or Gallery 2 had a 
   reliable integration. 🙁

 * I am agreeing with you. As i now am getting this error after clicking on “validate
   settings”:
    An error occurred while loading [http://sitename/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp-gallery2/g2admin.php&validate=admin](http://sitename/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp-gallery2/g2admin.php&validate=admin):
 * Connection to host <sitename> is broken
    If i goto [http://www.sitename.net/wp-gallery2.php](http://www.sitename.net/wp-gallery2.php)
   i get this error: Fatal Gallery Plug-in error Plug-in options not validated So,
   it looks like i have not gotten any further than before 🙁
