WPDataTable excel file upload problem

    Hello, I was using your lite version for a few days, everything was fine. I was using a table from an xlsx file, But today when I visit the page where my table was, It shows my site has a critical error. But other pages of the site are completely fine. I tried to make a new table by uploading xlsx file then plugin shows this error.

    There was an error while trying to save the table! error
    There has been a critical error on your website.

    I tried to if any other plugin is causing this by deactivating all other plugins, But nothing changes.

    Then I tried to upload CSV file, it works!! but xlsx file is very important for me because this has a currency column that CSV doesn’t have.

    Can you tell me what should I do?

    No problem, I can share the file.But that file is not the problem, I have a different wp installation and this excel file works fine there.

    Is there any way I can remove all data of this plugin? Because I tried to reinstall the plugin, and shortcodes starts next after previous number not from 1, it starts from 5-6.
    If I was able to delete all data there might be a way.

    Here I had to use csv and working. But I need to use Xlxs for currency column.

    Hi mjahmed,

    Sorry but I am a little confused now. In first post you explain that you are not able to create table form your XLSX file.

    I tried to make a new table by uploading xlsx file then plugin shows this error.

    That is the reason why we request that file, so we can investigate.

    If you are not able to create a new table with that file, you will need to share it with us, so we can debug it and check out what is going on.

    If you are able to create a new table from that XLSX file, then that means that you have change something in that source XLSX file and because of that you have this error in the first table.

    AS you can find in our docs:

    Please note: Once you create a table from an Excel file, changes in this file, like:

    Changing the column’s name,
    Changing the column’s order,
    Deleting the column, and
    Adding a new column.

    are highly not recommended, because the table in the wpDataTable plugin will not work, at the moment. If you make any of these changes, please recreate the table again.

    If you need to delete all data from wpdatatables you need to uncheck option “Prevent deleting tables in database” in main settings of plugin and then delete plugin from plugins page.
    Like this it will be removed all our tables from the database. After this you will lose all table settings and all tables that you create on that website.
