I am currently using the free version of WP Data Access. I have created some list views which display the data as expected. However, when I click Add New, Edit, or View, I am taken to the home page of the site instead of a detailed view of the data or a page to enter / edit the data. The links look something like this:

    https://mysite.com/?wpdaschema_name=my_database&table_name=my_table

Is there something I have not set up correctly which is causing this to fail? I know it worked on a different site for me.

    Hi Andy,

I guess you are using shortcode wpdadiehard? This shortcode does not work together with every WordPress theme. Sorry! For the free version I recommend using Data Projects in the dashboard.

For web page usage you might want to have a look at Data Forms. This is a premium feature that turns your Data Project into a fully functional web application and works with any theme.

    Does this help?

    Best regards,
    Peter

It does help some. We are going to get the premium version, but in the meantime we would like to get this to work. We are using wpdadiehard as that is the shortcode provided. The theme we are using currently is Twenty Twenty-one, but we will likely change to Divi. Will the premium shortcodes function better? Is there a shortcode for the free version in the meantime which will work in these two themes? Where is Data Forms found, and can that be used to create a list view?

    Hi Andy,

Shortcode wpdadiehard does not work with every theme. This cannot be fixed as I have no control over this. It is a theme issue. I know shortcode wpdadiehard works well with theme meteorites. Maybe you can give that a (temporary) try?

    >>> Will the premium shortcodes function better?
The premium version uses Data Forms, which is a completely different technology. Shortcode wpdadiehard uses WordPress back-end classes on the front-end. The premium version uses jQuery DataTables in combination with AngularJS and works with any theme.

    >>> Is there a shortcode for the free version in the meantime which will work in these two themes?
With the free version your can use and test your Data Projects in the dashboard by creating a dashboard menu item. Only shortcode wpdadiehard is available in the free version. If you want to try Data Forms, you can download a premium trial version. For your Data Projects it makes no difference. You can run the same project with both shortcodes.

    >>> Where is Data Forms found, and can that be used to create a list view?
When you have the premium version installed, you can copy Data Forms shortcodes from the list table in Data Projects, just like the free version does for shortcode wpdadiehard. It generates list views and data entry forms.

    Hope this helps!

    Best regards,
    Peter
