Support » Plugin: WPBook » WPBook Publishing to Facebook, but Timeline is not showing post

  • I set up WP-Book a while back for a client. Created my app, setup all the settings, and it was working fine. Recently the client updated to Facebook’s new timeline.

The posts stopped showing on the timeline, but do appear in the Activity Log. If I feature then un-feature the post through the Activity Log then they start to show up on the timeline. However, we are not going to do this for every post the client makes and thus are looking for a solution.

The posts are set to Public and Allowed on Timeline in the Activity Log, but they refuse to show up unless I feature / un-feature them.

Is there a Facebook app setting I need to update to support my app posting to the timeline?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Other than the ones you already referred to – the “who can see posts this app makes on your timeline” – sometimes posts get “grouped” by application and thus show up further down in the timeline.

This is not something WPBook has any control over, unfortunately – we publish to the timeline using Facebook’s established APIs.

If any other users have advice on how to get the posts to show better on the timeline I’m all ears.

My posts do show on the timeline, but do get grouped – you can manually ungroup individual stories, but I don’t know of a way to tell Facebook *never* to group these stories.

Based on what I see here:

The user has to feature or break into individual stories each time, and Facebook ultimately decides what subset out of all possible posts to show.
