Support » Plugin: Media Cleaner - Clean & Optimize Space » WPBakery Visual Composer?

    Hi Jordy.

I could really use a plugin like this, but I am also using WPBakery Visual Composer… I believe that you mentioned WPBakery Visual Composer in the support thread with mygale06 (“Erases only the used”). Do I understand that your plugin can not work with WPBakery Visual Composer? I ran Media Cleaner (Free Version) for “Media Library” with all of the available scanning options checked: of the many images it reported as not being used, I deleted just one (which I could see in my media file and was attached as an image to a page) and it was deleted from my page. I am not sure what went wrong, but I am afraid to use it on a large batch deletion.

I wonder if it has something to do with WPBakery Visual Composer or perhaps some other plugin such as an optimization plugin?

Finally, I did not see a “restore” option, but I did not add the wpconfig command either. Is that necessary to get the “restore” option?

Many thanks to you and I hope I can figure this out.

  • Ah! I see now that in your description you clearly state that Visual Composer is not supported at this time. Rats! Can you think of any way to remove unused images if I am using Visual Composer?

Not really… Media Cleaner could support it though, like it can support any plugins out there but you need to study how Visual Composer works.

For example, for a given file in the Media Library, can you check with a SQL query if this file is actually used by Visual Composer? If you can reply to that question or write the code for it, I can add it and we can test it 🙂 I would be more than willing to offer a free license for that kind of help.

I would love to help but I am not a coder. If I understood how to assist you I would be happy to do it.

This plug in seem to do the trick even with VC. Your thoughts?

I doubt that plugin works with VC. I analyzed this plugin in the past to see what it can do better than mine, just in case. It doesn’t support it, it would require specific code. I got VC from the developers and planning to work on it 🙂

You can also let me a message here so that I can contact you when I am sure it works:
