WPB2D Has Begun Running Incredibly Slowly

    Running WP 4.4.1, PHP = 5.3, WPB2D = 4.4.1

    WPB2D worked great for a long time–years. For some reason my weekly scheduled back-ups began running at crawling speed in late December. Example: This past weekend the back-up began as scheduled at 21:00 on Saturday; the Back-up Monitor reported that the process was 1% complete at 15:02 Sunday, at which time I terminated it. No big change to the database size, that I know of. 42.5% of my Dropbox space used.

    I am experiencing the exact same issue. I can terminate the backup, but it will restart next week when it’s scheduled to start a new backup. Hope there is a resolution.

    Any progress on this issue?? Nothing’s changed on my end… Shall I look for another back-up plug-in?

    However, on a couple of my sites I’ve had to stop using WPB2D and have been running UpDraft Plus, which has similar functionality. Some of the nice things you do need to pay for though (such as having sub-folders in the APPS directory in Dropbox. I backup a dozen sites or so, and sub-folders are handy).

    Thank you for the tip on Updraft Plus! I’ve installed it, and it seems to be working for me. Problem solved.
