Client has huge Excel file, basically a list of thousands of magazine articles, with author, specific issue, date, etc. No problem exporting it into a new database table in a WordPress install, via MySQL. Say for example, the new table created with the imported Excel data is called “test”

I have looked at the Wp_Query documentation, but it’s all pretty much directed at querying within posts and pages, NOT specific other tables in the WordPress database.

I have in the past set up custom PHP searches on sites, but have not used Wp_Query. Obviously, within the WordPress framework, Wp_Query is the tool to use, mostly for security reasons, I think. Can someone point me to an example of using Wp_Query to search a specific WordPress table? I want to give users the ability to type in a string, and then use that string to search for data within the new table called “test.”
