Ok… I have combed through the codex enough to create cumstom widgets and have a fully operational site options panel set up for my new theme. BUT wp_list_comments will not work and the comments_template() is not customizable enough. I have also read most of Digging Into WordPress by Chirs Coyler and have tried his techniques to no avail.
I’ve tried using the callback parameters and went through several other tutorials but NONE work. I am developing on my home machine so I cannot provide a link… but could be being on my home machine matter? I am using windows7 running WP 3.2.1 with the WAMP server set up. I am not using it inside the loop either. Here is some sample code

I really do not want to use the old style as setting up a custom loop with wp_list_categories should work for me... If i can just get it to function!
