wp_links table data type alteration

    ‘Ello,

    I am trying to add links into the wordpress table wp_links through the wordpress administration interface but the link I have is longer than what is allowed, looking at the database the maximium number of characters for a link is 256, my link is longer.

    If I change this datatype to accomodate longer links will this have any effects else where? I’ve tried it and haven’t noticed any problems but I just thought I’d check here encase it could have effects else where as I’ve only just started using wordpress and am still not certain how it all works yet.
