# WP6.3.1 footnote function is abnormal

   WordPress 6.3.1Theme GeneratePress 3.3.1Use the default 
   official article editor
 * Hello everyone
   I found a bug when using the latest version of the footnote feature.
   The steps that cause this error to occur are:
    1. Create a footnote in the article editor and update the article.
    2. Return to the article editor to delete the footnote and update the article.
    3. Recreate a new footnote and update the article.
    4. Finally, new articles will have old footnotes instead of newly created footnotes.
 * As you can see in the [attached picture](https://daydreamaster.com/wp-content/uploads/FN-BUG.png),
   the upper half is the new footnote (the article editor screen), and the lower
   half is the old footnote (the actual web page screen).

 * I can reproduce the problem in my case and would recommend the following:
 * First install the Gutenberg plugin and test whether it continues to happen. If
   not, then this has already been solved in the current development status of Gutenberg
   and will certainly be included in the next WordPress update. If it still happens

   addition to the testing recommended above –
 * This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins,
   and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable
   them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.
 * If you can install plugins, install and activate “Health Check”: [https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/)
   
   It will add some additional features under the menu item under Tools > Site Health.
   On its troubleshooting tab, you can Enable Troubleshooting Mode. This will disable
   all plugins, switch to a standard WordPress theme (if available), allow you to
   turn your plugins on and off and switch between themes, <strong>without affecting
   normal visitors to your site</strong>. This allows you to test for various compatibility
   issues.
