WP4.9 issue…

    I have an issue that started yesterday (21st Nov) after I installed WP4.9 and updated 3 or 4 Plug-Ins. I am hoping someone can help?!

    When I edit a Page or a Portfolio (all I have tried so far) and try to edit an Image Frame, Title, Checklist, Separator or Widget Area, WordPress hangs. Clicking on Save or Cancel does nothing and neither does clicking the ‘X’! This does not happen if I edit a Text Block or a Nested Column.

    Has anybody else experienced or read about such an issue?

    This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

    Thanks Steve. I did try disabling all the plugins apart from Fusion Builder as I needed that to be able to insert the image but with all other plugins disabled the problem still persists. I use Avada but that theme hasn’t been updated for a long time. I am totally stumped and panicking!

    Can you tell me if there’s a way of rolling back the 4.9 update?

    Rolling back is not a good idea.

    The last release of Avada was “Version 5.3 – November 20th, 2017”. Make sure your theme and plugins are up to date.

    I am now a little confused because on my Dashboard=>Updates under “Themes” is states ‘Your themes are all up to date.’, however, the latest Avada is (as you say) version 5.3 but I am running version 5.0.2!

    Avada is a commercial theme. Commercial products are not supported in these forums. .

    You may have to manually update the theme… Contact Avada support for more info.

    OK, thanks Steve.

    I’m going to perform a WP rollback as I have no other option. After deactivating all plugins the issue still persists! And the issue started as soon as I updated to WP4.9.

    I strongly suggest you upgrade Avada. See https://theme-fusion.com/avada-documentation/changelog.txt. It’s been updated for 4.9. Sticking with an old version of a theme (and therefore not being willing to update WordPress) is a very bad strategy.

    Hey @adekenney I also use Avada and have it fully updated to the latest version and am having issues inserting media images into any posts or pages. Not sure if it’s related to your issue.

    I’m having the same exact problem as @adekenney. I upgraded to Avada 5.3 and it still persists. This started when I updated to WP 4.9 today. I have reinstalled Avada updates several times even manually uploading via ftp. I have cleared all cache. I have switched over to a standard WP theme Twenty Seventeen and continue to have this same problem with Fusion Builder. Any help would be much appreciated.

    “This problem is appearing due to recent update of WordPress, we have already fixed this issue in avada 5.2.3( patches ).”

    I am doing the update now and will report back!

    Updating to Avada 5.2.3 and updating Fusion Core to 3.3.0 and Fusion Builder 1.3.0 fixed the issue for me.
