    Hi There!

We install the plugin WP YouTube Lyte and activate it but we had absolute no clue how to modified already existing iframe YouTube videos like:

    <div class="iframe-container"><iframe src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/LKTQMjoeqS4" width="690" height="388" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></div>

    example page::
    [ redundant link removed ]

thnx for helping & best regards from Germany

    Nico

hey Nico; do you have the option “Also act on normal YouTube links and iframes?” on? because in that case it _should_ work.

kind regards from sunny Belgium 🙂

OK, so how did you add the video in the post Nico?

Frank, these videos already exist before we install today your plugin. we insert these videos (the iframe snippets) by hand in the wordpress editor 2 years ago.

if you can tell us what we have to do it is no problem for us to modified these iframe-snippets in the editor by hand

So not a shortcode or something similar? And if you “edit post” and you go to “text” do you see the exact same HTML you posted earlier Nick?

Frank I think it looks like the same snippet which I postet before…

    <div class=”iframe-container”><iframe src=”https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/LKTQMjoeqS4″ width=”690″ height=”388″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen=”allowfullscreen”></iframe></div>

    no shortcode

just tested by copy/ pasting that exact HTML in a new post and LYTE does pick it up …

so can you edit such a post and double-check the HTML in the text-view?

sorry Frank don’t know what to do. don’t undersand “so can you edit such a post and double-check the HTML in the text-view”.

means this edit the post a bit in the text-view and save it?

What I mean is for one post that has such a video go to “edit post” and then click on “text” (instead of the default “visual”) and in the HTML look for the code that is in there for the video.

Yes I go to the text editor (not the default “visual”) and there I copy this snippet

    <div class=”iframe-container”><iframe src=”https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/LKTQMjoeqS4″ width=”690″ height=”388″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen=”allowfullscreen”></iframe></div>

it does not change. its the same as before

In that case I’m afraid I don’t know why it wouldn’t work Nick (it did work with the exact same code for me), so we’ll need to try something else. Can you replace that entire block with httpv://youtu.be/LKTQMjoeqS4 ?

    (@optimizingmatters)

well, that look OK, no? 🙂

yeah, I think it looks really great. Frank did this mean – and that’s no problem for us – that we have to insert the “string” always by hand?

no idea why as it _should_ work and as it works for me without having to replace, but afraid so, yes.
