# WP URL’s

 * Hello everyone.
 * My current website is [http://www.japannewbie.com](http://www.japannewbie.com).
   I created a new website with word press on the same provider, within a specific
   directory on my site.
 * The new domain I got for my wordpress site is [http://www.otsumamimusic.com](http://www.otsumamimusic.com).
   It is functional now. (site still under construction!)
 * But, as you can see when I click a wordpress link in my new site, it links to
 * [http://www.japannewbie.com/otsumamimusic/wp/?m=200506](http://www.japannewbie.com/otsumamimusic/wp/?m=200506)
 * I would rather it not show the original [http://www.japannewbie.com](http://www.japannewbie.com)
   portion of the URL when linking around.
 * Is there anyway I can control that?

   help me out? Or would that just throw off all my links?

   rather than occasionally flipping to [http://www.japannewbie.com/otsumamimusic/](http://www.japannewbie.com/otsumamimusic/)*

 * Yes, the link that I gave you mentions changing both the site_url and home values
   in the database. These values are controlled by both “WordPress address (URI)”
   and “Blog address (URI)”.

 * Can these values in the DB be change just by using the admin panel to make the
   changes? Or must it be done in the DB manually?
 * Also, could anyone explain the difference in meaning between the WordPress address
   and the Blog Address?

 * WordPress address is the directory of all wordpress files e.g. mysite.com/wp
 * If the Blog address is the same, then visitor go to you blog by typing mysite.
   com/wp
 * If you set Blog address to be mysite.com, then visitor could go to your blog 
   by typing mysite.com/wp. With this set up, you have to move `index.php` to mysite.
