    Hello,

I’m trying to link my twitter feed to my site
It asked for the API key etc
I googled how to get that
The instructions I found, included filling out a form on Twitter to “create a new ap”
I was told I couldn’t do that without them having my mobile number
I duly went to settings, tried to input it
Twitter sent a code to my phone, and asked me to activate it
When I tried they said, sorry, we can’t register any phones right now :/

Was there a simpler way of going about things please?

    Diane

What do you mean by “link my twitter feed to my site”?

Do you want your blog posts to be automatically posted to Twitter, do you want your Tweets to be automatically posted to your blog, or do you want to display a list of recent Tweets somewhere like in a sidebar?

    Hello James,

    Recent tweets in sidebar?

If you just want your tweets showing up on the side, go to your Twitter Account settings on their website and create a user timeline widget. Then take the code they generate and add it into a WP Text Widget that you add to your blog’s sidebar.

For this you do not need a Twitter App. A Twitter App is used to post something to your Twitter Account.

For an example, you can look at my blog (click my name next to my avatar).

Also, if you’re already using the Jetpack plugin from https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/ with the Extra Sidebar Widgets module active, you’ll find a Twitter Timeline widget you can use instead at Appearance -> Widgets in your blog’s Dashboard.
