• Hi There,

I think I’ve been getting a few false positives from Wordfence. The last one has been with WP Super Cache. Below is what I get:-

    Critical Problems:

    * File appears to be malicious: wp-content/cache/blogs/us/meta/wp-cache-us934cb80c8803f97920725b8d59a91547.php

The file has since been deleted mind, it occurred over the weekend and it was my work account and the cache had been deleted. I’ve also noticed this happen with a different caching solution.

This has happened twice now. My guess is that something in those lines appear to set off Wordfence’s file appears to be malicious setup.

Any ideas what could be causing it?

  • If you have a page on your site that is actually compromised, and then cached that way, you would see that behavior… or, as you suggested, it could also be a false positive.

If the latter, then you can ignore the issue as false positives are irrelevant non-issues, but if the former, you might want to sweep your site for any issues.

(NOTE: I’m a long-time WF user, and not part of WF support. My views are my own!)

I think it’s a false positive as it only occurs in the cached file, and nothing else appears to be compromised….
