    Yes it does works well with Jetpack photon.

    About using Photon, here is my personal thoughts on usage, you can decide accordingly:

    I do use it on my site, and it is useful if you are not using some CDN service already.

    Any CDN service and Photon, optimises image as well, before serving them, so it makes them useful.

    In case you are using some CDN service, you don’t need photon.

    From my own experience, Photon’s image cache NEVER expires. Which means that, if you don’t “smush” the images right when you’re uploading them but some time later (ie. AFTER Photon copied/cached them), the optimized images will never make it to Photon.
