WP site seized up when downloading an image file

  • When I was downloading an image file for my Follow Me button in a BWS Twitter plugin, I forgot to reduce the size of the file. As a result my web site and admin site have seized up. I would be grateful for any advice as to how I might sort this out

  • It could be that your hosting server is over loaded, it should be back by itself. If you have a dedicated server then may be you can just restart your machine if cant stop the processes.

Can you log in to your file directory with ftp / sftp and remove the file? Your host may also provide a file manager in their hosting control panel (like cPanel).

Thanks very much. The problem is fixed!
