WP Site in german, plugin in english

What should I do to activate the german language for this plugin?

I see the .po and the .mo files in the directory “languages”.
The strings are translated.
Cleaned out the browser caches.

But it still gives me the english language.

This happens because the german .mo-file is missing from the languages folder of the plugin. You can use https://poedit.net/ to compile the languages/dk_speakout-de_DE.po file to a .mo file to get the german translation to work.

This should of course be fixed by the plugin author. If needed, I can provide the missing .mo-files, just contact me.

The german .mo-file is still missing in the current version. It would be great if the could be added!

The file is actually there and has been all along – have a look in the repository https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/speakout/trunk/languages

I assume it isn’t loading for you. You seem like you know what you are doing, does it throw an error in developer tools? Or anywhere else for that matter?

Ahhh I see the problem.

The file is named dk_speakout-out_DE.mo rather than dk_speakout-de_DE.mo

I will fix it in 1.3.4 but you can do it manually now on your server.

Great, thanks for fixing it. I renamed it on my server, but off course that change would be lost on any update.

1.3.4 update was pushed last night my time, it includes the fix.

Sorry to inform you, but german is still not working, because the file is currently called dk_speakout_DE.mo whereas it should be called dk_speakout-de_DE.mo. Also, there are some grammar and spelling errors. I fixed those and would be happy to send it to you. How can I reach you – or is there a better way to contribute?
