@sweetrobot – It would seem the other plugin author has sorted out the issue and provided an update that corrects it. Based on that topic I would say this has been resolved.

    Thanks for sharing the link!

it is more of a workaround. any reason that your plugin is pulling things via ajax in the admin, as he stated?

    thanks.

@sweetrobot – I’m not really sure what specifically @jordy Meow was referencing, but I did get the impression it is not a work-around as he chose to make this a default off option in his plugin.

“The fix on the WP Retina 2x side is to disable Retina support completely when the admin is used…”

perhaps, but i got more the impression that he’s meeting nextgen halfway.

“I found the problem. NextGen is generating chunks of its admin pages through the WordPress system and get them via ajax. Not sure what they would do that?

is there any way photocrati could take a look to see if there is a way to make retina available in admin?

while this is far from a priority, it would certainly be nice. as of now, it’s a compromise.

@sweetrobot – Our most likeliest go forward approach will be to complete our own Retina/HiDPI support from within NextGEN Gallery … but as it is, I see this as evolving into more a Feature Request idea.

If you have specific thoughts and ideas on what should be included as “Retina” support, especially in how it affects the Administration Panels and/or non-front-facing pages of a WordPress site, please feel free to share them here: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/feature-voting/

    Thanks!
