  • Save a copy of that index page and then remove it to see if that solves the problem.

    Backup your site first so that you can restore it if anything goes wrong.

    Thanks for the info, Krishna! It didn’t work. <sigh> Is it possible to reinstall and keep my files? Or is there another way I can try to do that? I really appreciate any help. I’ve crashed WP several times bur I’ve never had this much info on it…..

    What do you want to reinstall – WordPress?
    What files you want to keep? Theme files or something else?

    my posts, etc. most of what i’ve built into this WP install is what i want to keep. i have settled this issue, but can’t get the “no categories” tag off the front page! any suggestions?
