Support » Requests and Feedback » WP-Pro mailing list

  • The rules state that you cannot ask for paid support in the forums and then they refer you to:

    “We have a WP-Pro mailing list which you are encouraged to use.

    So… I click on the link and get this:

    “The WP-Pro mailing list has been discontinued”

    Then I went into: “” which gives me a list of Mailing Lists. Again, no working pro list.

    Can anyone please advise what am I supposed to do if I want to pay a pro to either create or fix something for me?

    Thank you so very much.

    Where does the rule say that as I thought we’d removed it?…

    I can’t see it in the Forum Welcome message.

    It’s under Closing Posts:

    While many times non-productive posts are deleted, sometimes they had some bearing on relevancy. In those instances, we will close them so the information remains, but discussion can no longer be furthered. This includes, but is not restricted to, posts on the following topics: Hosting recomendations (for or against), off topic conversations (i.e. non-WordPress), old/outdated topics, clearly resolved topics, excessive rudeness or antagonistic, and requests for paid support.

    But no, it doesn’t say to post on the pro mailing list. A quick wiki search shows nothing pointing there actually.

    @mrmist You’ll find it in
    F: Paying for services
    Requesting paid help is discouraged. We do not want to give any impression that WordPress help is anything but free. We also do not need bidding wars in the forums.
    If you have posted some contact information your thread will be closed.
    If you have not posted that information we will ask you to and when you do the thread will be closed.
    Any thread that offers any service for money can be closed at any time. We are not against paid services but these forums are not the right place for them.

    @esmi Thank you. 🙂

    @ipstenu I didn’t even see the Closing Posts yet. Guess I better check those to make sure I am being compliant with the site. Thank you.

    Ahh. That is old and out of date. Wow. SO out of date we should probably delete it. You want to read this instead:

    Ignore that post.

    Thank you, ipstenu.

    I appreciate everyone’s help and time on this.

    Happy Holidays!
