• Is there anyone here who is currently using WP Poll on their blog that I can look at as an example of how it looks like?

    I’m using “Democracy” but I think it’s causing my page to load slower, and if you click “View Results” without voting, you can’t go back to the previous voting screen even if you click on “Back to Voting Screen” link. Clicking on “Back to Voting Screen” doesn’t do what it says.

    Is it me or my browser or is this a real problem?

    You can see for yourself on my testing post:

    Thanks!

    Been using WP Polls for a long time, at least 2 or 3 revs. Lester makes some of the best no nonsense plugins out there..easy to modify the look and feel to your own taste..I say give it a try…

    Hey Boyd, thanks, but um, what are we supposed to be voting for on your blog? I don’t see choices? It’s kinda unclear. I’d like my polls to have choices for ppl to vote.

    Don’t know what you mean unless it’s a browser issue. I can see it just fine. My site is optimized for IE7 and FF2. If you’re using something else and can’t see the poll in the right hand column, please let me know. I even created a new test poll to ensure the question and answers were showing up.
    Weird….either way, give WP Polls a try, I think you’ll like it more than democracy even though I still think democracy is a good plugin as well..

    OHHH I see it. I wasn’t aware it was on the right column. HEHE.. wow, hm, that looks good too. I’ll look into it. Thanks again! 🙂

    OK i just posted a new poll using WP Poll.

    The PROBLEM:
    After clicking an answer to vote, the results % bar runs all the way to right stepping over the post’s box, making the post’s right border disappear. Umm.. well, take a look here cuz I don’t know how to explain it too well..

    That’s what you see in Internet Explorer, but it seems fine in FireFox.

    But most visitors that come to my blog have IE so I need to fix this problem.

    Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Looks fine to me in both FF2 and IE7. One thing you’ll need to do is:

    In IE, some of the poll’s text may appear jagged (this is normal in IE). To solve this issue,
    Open poll-css.css
    Find:
    /* background-color: #ffffff; */
    Replace:
    background-color: #ffffff;
    Where #ffffff should be your background color for the poll.

    OK, what happens is, if you’re the first voter to vote, the bar will read “100%” and so that pushes the bluish bar all the way to the right.

    Now, if a second voter votes, then the bar will shorten to 50% and that’s what you’re seeing right now, and that’s why it “seems fine”.

    One more thing.. in regards to what I said earlier:

    “I’m using “Democracy” but I think it’s causing my page to load slower, and if you click “View Results” without voting, you can’t go back to the previous voting screen even if you click on “Back to Voting Screen” link. Clicking on “Back to Voting Screen” doesn’t do what it says.”

    This is an IE problem, not Firefox. In FF, clicking on “back to voting screen” DOES take you back.

    How are we supposed to manage our blog that’s friendly for both IE and FF?

    *scratches head*

    I can’t speak for democracy because I don’t use it and yes, sometimes it’s a b***h to get everything to work in both IE and FF and that’s not even taking into consideration all of the other browsers. As for your problem with WP Polls, I understand what you’re talking about now and I think it comes down to the location of you code. Not being in the sidebar, I guess you’re going to have to add something to it and limit it’s span capabilities. That’s out of my range, but I’m sure somebody else here will be able to help. Sorry. Lester usually keeps up to date on this forum, so I’m sure he’ll see this or you may want to go here:

    and sniff around for a possible solution..

    Hope this helps..
