WP Plugin Repository needs a hefty revamp

  • The plugin search is a never ending search. I feel very grateful to be able to dive in and search for the newest most innovative plugins. I’m always finding new plugins that are making the user experience better and better for myself and clients, but a few things I hope to see implemented in the near future that I personally believe would enhance the search options immensely.

    1. General Categorization, such as : Utilities, Social, Design, Site Performance & Optimization.

    2. What scripts and forks are being from commonly used frameworks, such as Modernizr.js, lightbox.js (It would be nice if we can just rely on each script being loaded only once in our sites to avoid over usage of the same scripts, and overworking the server CPU’s)

    3. More on this subject, as I will post more later, but looking forward to the replies in hopes that this might be important for the future of wordpress and the OS community.
