  • I am having trouble with getting WP Photos going. I have tried to follow the directions and hints posted here in Support but so far no luck.
Right now, when I type in the addy for my blog (http://www.wump.info/wumpblog) I am seeing the following:
Parse error: parse error in /home/wumpc14/public_html/wumpblog/index.php on line 58
I have tried going to that line in index.php (though my current editor doesn’t provide me line numbers).
So far no luck. I appreciate any help/tips anyone can give me. Thanks!

  • 1. I recommend finding a text editor that will show you line numbers. If you’re using Windows, a decent open source editors is Syn Text Editor. If you’re using some distro of linux; I like using Bluefish. If you’re using a Mac, I’ve heard good things about BBEdit; but I don’t have a Mac and can’t make any real recommendations.
    2. The error message tells us that something is wrong with your index.php file around that line 58 but without seeing the code in your index.php; we can’t really say what’s wrong. I’d recommend you copy all of the code from your index.php in a text file (txt) and post that on your site so that people can see your code and possibly make suggestions to help you out.

For the time being I’ve backed away from installing wp-photos in my blog. I haven’t entirely given up… I just need to choose a time when I can put more of a focus on getting it done correctly. Thanks to Manzabar for the suggestions as they have helped me get a good text editor and figure out some things I didn’t know previously.
