WP Photo Album (WPPA) not working with Colorway Theme

I installed the WP Photo Album Plugin but it didn’t work as the documentation predicted. An error message also came up saying Jfile doesn’t work with this theme (I use Colorway), so perhaps that is why?
I’m interested if there are other Photo Gallery plugins which will work with Colorway.
