• WordPress stopped accepting my password, so I had them send me a new one. This works, but I want to change it. I’ve been looking for instructions, but I can only find instructions for changing the password of the site admin, not WordPress itself–does that make sense? Two different sets of user IDs and passwords. WordPress doesn’t seem to give instructions about how to change the WordPress password. codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password is not the password I want to change. What am I missing?

  • There is no “WordPress” password that I’m aware of other than the site admin password. Are you possibly talking about the database user password? The one you have in the wp-config.php file?

WordPress rejected my password as “invalid”. When I went through the process of getting a new one, I was emailed one for my global dashboard at wordpress.com. I need a password to access my admin account at wordpress.org. Any advise?

one of the methods on that page should work for resetting your admin password

WordPress.com passwords have nothing to do with your wordpress.org self hosted blog
