WP pages look amateurish in IE vs Firefox

  • I have noticed that my web page, insuranceclaimhelp.org, looks professional when viewed in firefox 2.0, and amateurish in IE 6.0. The sizes of the title, subtitle and other text is unbalanced in IE. I’m using the Spotlight 1.5 theme.

    Is there a way or a setting in WordPress to make it look as good in IE as it does in firefox?

  • They look pretty close to me with the exception of the header text. you can address ie6 specifically in your style sheet by starting the declaration with “* html”. You can also address ie7 specifically with “*+html”.

    like this:

    h1{code:here}/* this is for firefox and all the other browsers */
    * html h1 {ie6code: here;}
    *+html h1 {ie7code: here;}

    Will

    I’m lost. I use ie 6. What do you mean “starting the declaration?” Is this supposed to be code on a content page viewed in page eidtor? Is this code somewhere in the Spotlight 1.5 theme?

    thanks

    ok, I found the “style sheet” in theme editor, but still not sure where to insert the code you show. do I just copy and paste:

    h1{code:here}/* this is for firefox and all the other browsers */
    * html h1 {ie6code: here;}

    between the words “Description:” and “Light theme created …”?

    thanks
