• Hallo zusammen,

    Hello, everyone,

I use WP Ocean as theme. And now it doesn’t work anymore.
I now have the following message: “This theme did not load properly and has been stopped in the admin backend.”

Now I had to switch to a standard theme and of course it has destroyed my entire website.

Does anyone else have this issue with the theme? And maybe know a remedy.

    Thanks for Help

    Hi There !!

It is hard to give the solutions without viewing the dashboard and its issues but i can give you solutions in the basis of general solutions.

Basically, this issue comes when the theme is not compatible with the WordPress files so please try to update your wp-WordPress in the latest version.

Also please try to update your all plugins that you are using from the dashboard.

Try to switch the theme and see the changes if it is working fine or not.

    Thank You !!

    Thanks for the answer.
Wordpress is up to date and the plugins are all updated too. Only WP Ocean does not want to run. Are there any other themes that are like WP OCean? Because the default themes all don’t work the way I’d like them to, especially when it comes to the menu and fonts.

I had exactly the same problem. Everything failed and crashed. All 5 websites that used OceanWP.
Also, before it crashed everything became very slow

My hosting provider had the option to logon in “safe mode”.
Then I could change the theme to another theme (any will do) and then update the plugins and then change it back to OceanWP.

Alternatively, you could download the whole theme as a zip file and then upload the content to your hosting provider using FTP. I think this should work as well, but I did not test this.

    Good luck!

I read your last message now and see that you can still logon.
In that case, just delete your plugin and make sure it really is gone, by looking with an FTP client or file explorer.
Then install a fresh copy of OceanWP. This should work? 🙂

    Hello Everyone,

Thank you all for your cooperation in providing a solution.

@beylasecke To complete @kraaieboutje’s reply, if you cannot access the wp-admin page, there are other ways to deactivate plugins: https://wordpress.org/support/article/faq-troubleshooting/.

    Summary: you can using FTP/sFTP and rename the current theme from root of the website / wp-content / theme / {{current theme name}} and deactivating any plugins with rename plugin folder(e.g, add -t) from root of the website / wp-content / plugins {{Plugin Name}}

Also, check this link: https://wordpress.org/support/article/faq-troubleshooting/#how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-the-administrative-menus, or this link: https://kinsta.com/knowledgebase/the-site-is-experiencing-technical-difficulties/.

To see the error on WordPress, you can check the super administrator email; Or turn on the WordPress debugger mode. To enable it, please follow the steps explained in this link: https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/.

Then please share the error message here as a code. We’ll find out what happened on your website with that error message.

After fixing the error, please tell us a little about the versions of plugins you use. To do this, please go to WP Dashboard > Tools > Site Health > Info Tab and click on the button Copy site info to clipboard. You can send the information as code here or upload them to http://pastebin.com/ and get an exclusive link.

Note 1: You can ask your host provider to return the backup.

Note 2: To download the latest version of the theme and Ocean Extra, please navigate to the following links:
    https://wordpress.org/themes/oceanwp/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/ocean-extra/

Please let me know if you have any questions about the above steps.

    Please keep us posted.
    Best Regards
