Support » Plugin: Polylang » WP notice regarding BuddyPress

  • Hi Chouby!

I’m developing a site using Buddypress (along with bbpress).
As soon as I add a language to Polylang I get the following notices:

Notice: bbp_setup_current_user was called incorrectly. The current user is being initialized without using $wp->init(). Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 2.3.) in /path/to/wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3245

Notice: bp_setup_current_user was called incorrectly. The current user is being initialized without using $wp->init(). Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 1.7.) in /path/to/wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3245

Is there a way that you recommend to change when the polylang plugin is loaded?
    Thanks!

I am aware of this warning issued by Buddypress. I have a different opinion of Buddypress’s author on this topic.

Buddypress’s author opened a bug issue in WordPress because WordPress is doing things as wrong as Polylang 😉
    See: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/24169

And Michel, author of Xili languange, opened a bug issue in Buddypress because, as me, he believes that Buddypress is doing things wrong
    See: https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2309

If the notice is raised on screen, just set WP_DEBUG to false in wp-config.php

OK. Yeah, from what threads I looked at I had a feeling this kind of thing was going on 🙂
I’m fond of developing with debugging on so I’ll have to try to ignore the notices for the time being.
Hope it works out between you big boys! 🙂
