WP NextGen upgrade to latest ver Broke site

I am using Nextgen and was attempting to upgrade to the latest version. something happened and Next gen was removed from my site. On attempts to reinstall I get the message “Destination folder already exists. /home/content/c/g/a/cgaryburke/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/” I am using Twenty Ten theme. I need help resolving this issue. I do not know where to look to correct this. Any suggestions?
