WP Manual install – new administrator id wanted instead of

    I need to create a secure WP blog and I can do everything else but tha Admin account is still created. In Fantasitico I can use another ID instead of Admin.

    Is there a way to do this?

    you will have to edit the wp_users table in the database with phpmyadmin and change “admin” to whatever desired

    So how is that Fantastico can do it? Are they running a some kind of query?

    never looked into it – I would assume something like that
    I wish wordpress manual installs didn’t lock you into admin myself just for security reasons if nothing else
    it is easily overcome, however
