• I’m tackling the dreaded “post by email” thing, and have run into a problem. I’ve configured WP properly, I think: at least, as per instructions. And I know an email has gone into my mailbox because I peeked. But when I run wp-mail.php I get this error message:

    Ooops POP3 connect: Error [536870912] []

    Any help appreciated.

Sorry, moshu, I don’t think I understand. Before I posted I searched for the particular error that got thrown up in my case –Error [536870912] — and found nothing. Are you saying that all errors are the same in some way?

All I am saying is: I put the text part of your error in the search box (see the link!) and there were a lot of topics about it.
I am not interested in posting by mail, so I did not read them – but you should.
Just click the link I gave and read all of them. There might be a solution. Or not. But do your homework.

    Hi again, Moshu.

I assure you I did my homework before I posted, just as and in the manner you have suggested. I would not have posted my query if there had been an answer available. Clearly I should have spelled out my research attempts in my original request for help.

Now, can anyone enlighten me as to the meaning of the following error message, returned when accessing wp-mail.php:

    Ooops POP3 connect: Error [536870912] []

    Thanks.
