    Hello,

The General Data Protection Regulation (EU) is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union. It impacts every business operating in or with the European Union and thus nearly every website and webshop. It’s up to website owners to make sure that their website are GDPR compliant to avoid severe penalties of up to 4% of worldwide turnover.

It would be of great help to us if you could tell us whether you plugin is GDPR compliant or not. If not, can you tell us which personal data are collected or processed. Personal data is any information relating to an individual. It can be anything from a name, a home address, a photo, an email address, bank details, posts on social networking websites, medical information, or a computer’s IP address.

    Thank you in advance.

    Best regards,
    Nga

WP Mail SMTP doesn’t store or track user information in any way but rather changes the method of email delivery. So while SMTP is not involved in the issues addressed by GDPR, any plugins that are responsible for the collection of user information would be (such as a forms plugin, etc).

In all circumstances, we strongly recommend you consult directly with legal counsel familiar with the GDPR regulations to review your specific use of any plugin that collects user information.

For general information on GDPR compliance, here’s our doc on the subject (specifically pertains to our central plugin, WPForms): https://wpforms.com/docs/how-to-create-gdpr-compliant-forms/
